Ah’ve been tagged!

May 12th, 2007

Here’s the deal. Being tagged is a lot like getting a chain letter in the mail only with no good luck or money being promised if you forward it, nor bad luck or poverty if you don’t.

Yesterday, Chris over at Write and Whine tagged me. Being a good sport (to say nothing of the fact that I appreciate the link!), I’m going to join the game and tag someone else.

The first rule of the game is to post the rules of the game. Here they are:

  • Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
  • People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
  • At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people (I only chose four) to get tagged and list their names.

Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.I liked the fact that Chris did her list backwards so I will, too.

8. We grow our own rhubarb. Luanne makes awesome rhubarb custard pies!

7. I rarely leave the house without a ballcap. I’ve worn out several but refuse to throw them away, particularly my Chicago Bulls cap, my Danskin Triathlon cap, and the one from DePaul University.

6. I think Jay Manuel from America’s Next Top Model is hot.

5. I have several sets of windchimes in all different pitches. Several years ago we went to a picnic at Luanne’s boss’s house. I was mesmerized by the sound of bamboo chimes hanging on the deck. His wife later gifted me with my own (thanks, again, Deb). I hung them temporarily from a rack in the kitchen. Before I could transfer them to a place outside, our oldest cat took a liking to them. She’d walk past and give the wind-catcher a swat to make them rattle. I was so enchanted that they are still in the same place!

4. Although staying at the Berkeley YWCA Residence in Boston was much cheaper than anything else I could find while doing research at Harvard, it reminded me a lot of The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

3. The scent of lilacs and of lilies of the valley, both of which we have around the house, are the real treasures of spring.

2. The omelette aux fines herbes that I had at a restaurant in Les Baux de Provence was pitiful compared to a cheese omelet at IHOP.

1. I always named my cars up until a few years ago. My first car which was a mint green Nash Rambler doesn’t count. There was: Claire, Molly, Fritz, Charlotte, Alfredo, Bucky, Quincy …

I tag - Kerry, Adam, Uncle Charlie, and Mark.
